I've had one of these for years and years, but I've never really used it. You gave some great suggestions. I'll have to get it out!

A bazillion and one uses for the physioball (I somehow always refer to it as a swiss ball).
I often recommend it for the beginner and the advanced user in many 'core' exercises.
Add this ball to almost any exercise will almost triple the difficulty level.

@Strong One, Thanks for your input!

Yes, I love the physio ball. Many of Coach Al's runner-core exercises uses the ball. Can be very challenging! My favorite is the spinal twist on the ball. I grunt and groan all the way to each side...

@FitMom, Great for core exercises indeed.

I like using the ball for crunches and doing dumbbell chest press, chest flys and triceps extensions. I find it helps my core strength having to balance on my back while I use the hand weights. http://sparkpeople.com/resource/exercises.asp?exercise=45 Sparkpeople has demos of many exercises using the ball.

@Rachel D, Sometimes leaning the ball up against the couch etc. is a good way to modify until you are more comfortable. Thanks for your feedback!

I have tried these balls and just find them hard to use. I think I just don't have enough balance! :) Maybe once I get myself into better shape I will try one again. Right now mine sits in the corner of my basement sad and alone. LOL
